Uncle highlights a directory of gunshops at ArmsDealer.net
When I drilled down, it even has a decent directory of the dealers available around the "belly of the beast."
I bought my first firearm at Chuck's Gun Shop.
Because of it's proximity to the city limits, Chuck's has repeatedly been the setting for anti-gun protest. Jesse Jackson was arrested there. Father "Snuffy" Pflegger, has protested there.
"We're gonna snuff you out!"
Yet Chuck's remains.
Another shop I used to frequent was the Glenwood Gun Shop.
Gun Store Owners Shot To Death In Glenwood
Six suspects were in custody and police had recovered a number of stolen firearms late Saturday evening in connection with the robbery of a Glenwood gun store that left the two shop owners dead and one man injured.Suspects Held In Fatal Robbery
About 9 p.m. Friday, within minutes of closing, three armed robbers walked into Glenwood Gun Shop, 135 E. Main St., and opened fire.
The murder of the proprietors at the Glenwood shop was felt personally. It was truly a friendly place. I've never found another gun shop that matched it. I see online that it's listed as being open for business still. Gonna have to make a pilgrimage I think.
