Failure to Neutralize?

failure to neutralize; (as used in the shooting sport of IDPA type matches) is given when there is not at least one hit in either the -0 or -1 scoring zones.

Other than a dreaded safety violation, the failure to neutralize is one of the things ya wanna avoid.
It means you either, a. Did not SEE the target and missed it, or, even worse, b. Saw the target, engaged said target and failed miserably to put a round thru the vitals.

failure to neutralize; (def. 2) is also the name i picked to isquat on this lil piece of ispace to journal my descent into the depths of my growing "shooting problem"

And yeah, the "2" instead of "to", in the blog header is just too much. Sosumi.
